About the ECSA / LPT Certifications
As the number of illegal hackers in the world continues to surge, counter hacking professionals are employed to search and eliminate the plots of these hacker groups. Thus, many industries look for individuals who are knowledgeable in the areas of advanced hacking. This situation makes the “counter-hacking” profession a great demand in the job market.
Individuals who want to be competent in advanced hacking must be certified in ECSA/LPT (EC-Council’s Certified Security Analyst/Licensed Penetration Tester) program. This program is designed to provide advanced hacking and penetration testing methods in all modern infrastructures, operating systems and application environments. ECSA is a program that complements the Certified Ethical Hacker or CEH. The two areas differ for CEH concentrates more on hacking tools and technologies while ECSA is more on exploring how to analyze the outcome from the tools and technologies used by CEH. Furthermore, ECSA investigates the analytical phase for ethical hacking.
ECSA is also a stepping stone to the EC-Council’s Licensed Penetration Tester or LPT certification, which main responsibility is to standardize the knowledge base for penetration testing professionals by incorporating the best practices used by experience experts in the field. To obtain LPT, the candidate must have certification in both CEH and ECSA.
The ECSA and LPT training are combined into a five-day ECSA/LPT Certification Boot Camp class. The class enables the candidates to learn the means of creating, securing and testing out protocols for networks to ensure that an organization is protected from the dangers created by hackers. At the end of the class, attendees will be prepared for ECSA and LPT certifications. The coursework consists of 47 modules and the examination has 50-questions, which are multiple-choice type and can be taken in two hours.
